In 1836 a group of men from Tennessee came to Texas to assist in the Texas Revolution. In July, 2007, another man came from Tennessee to enable First Baptist Church carry forth the vision of reaching people for Christ, training them and sending them on mission for the Lord. Who is this man? His name is Victor Morrison, our pastor. Victor loves the Lord and thus loves reaching out to people of all ages and backgrounds. He is a dynamic preacher and a wonderful teacher. He is a man of prayer and a student of the Word If your desire is to hear and learn from God’s Word you will not be disappointed when you visit our worship service. Before coming to Columbus, Victor served in Japan and Canada as a missionary, church planter and pastor. He is a graduate of Union University, Jackson Tennessee and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas. | Marsha Miller—Director of Choral Ministries |
| Marsha became the music director for First Baptist Church, Columbus in October of 1998. She and John moved to the Columbus area, and joined the church in 1976. As a member of the choir she “filled in” as the director on two different occasions as the church searched for a Minister of Music. She was called to serve in this position in 1998. Music training for Marsha began at her father’s knee, as early as she could carry a tune. As he instructed, her , mother encouraged and the whole family performed together in church, various crusades and at the VA hospitals. “It had always been a dream of mine to serve the Lord in music ministry, but I never dreamed that it would be in my own church. | A 1985 graduate of Texas A&M University in College Station, Geneva Rossignol and her husband, Terry, moved to Columbus and after a few months joined First Baptist Church. Geneva has served First Baptist Church as Office Administrator since 1999. | JUSTIN SCHROEDER - ASSOCIATE /YOUTH PASTOR |
| and a 2008 graduate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He married his beautiful bride, Michelle, on March 8, 2008. Justin has a heart for the Lord and wants to serve Him with all of his soul and energy. | Kenneth Bundy - Staff Evangelist |
| is currently pursuing a Master of Ministry & Master of Kenneth has a Bachelor's degree in Pastoral Theology and Kenneth has a Bachelor's degree in Pastoral Theology and is currently pursuing a Master of Ministry & Master of Divinity degrees from Temple Baptist Seminary. Kenneth was ordained to the gospel ministry in December 1982 and pastured five churches from 1981-1999. He has felt God's call into evangelism and is currently following that call as FBC' s staff evangelist and through Soldier of Christ Ministries. He is the founder of "Soldier of Christ Ministries" with a theme of "earnestly contending for the faith" and specializing in Evangelistic and Revival ministries (teaching & preaching the gospel of Christ and encouraging Christians to live righteous & holy lives dedicated to serving God). |
| Meghan Preston - Director of Children's Activities |
| Meghan studied Christian studies/missions at University of Mobile in Alabama and Boyce College in Louisville, Kentucky. She married Patrick Preston in 2007 to serve together in ministry and they have two beautiful children Aaden and Ellie. Originally living in Alabama the Lord lead their family to move to Texas to work at Pine Cove Christian camps. They have been in Columbus since 2009. Working with the children, Meghan’s desire is to love, serve and disciple them to grow in faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. She yearns to see the children deepen in their love for God while teaching true biblical doctrine. |

| Rigoberto Mejia Fortin is a graduate of the Theology Seminary in Guatemala (SETECA) with a degree in Theology. Emma Isabel, his wife is a psychologist by profession and with much experience in family counseling, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, child and marriage counseling. The Mejias’ have three experience in Christian service. In 2009 God moved the Mejia Aguilar family from Honduras to begin a minister to the Hispanic people of Colorado County. First Baptist Church, Columbus, held a commission service for the Mejia family on June 7, 2009. Pastor Rigoberto Mejia was recognized as a new pastor of the Colorado Baptist Association, in El Campo, Texas at the Annual Reunion of Churches. In November of 2009, the building of First Baptist Church of Rock Island was opened. Since that day, services are held each Sunday at 11:00. A free lunch is served after the service. |
